Job Title:                    Project Management Intern - Capital Projects

Department:              Community Development

Reports to:                 Community Development Manager

Job Purpose

 

As a Project Management Intern, you will work closely with our experienced project management team to assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of capital projects. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in project management, learn about the intricacies of capital projects, and contribute to the successful delivery of key initiatives within our organization.

 

Key Accountabilities and Key Results Areas

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Support the project team in conducting feasibility studies and risk assessments.
  • Help coordinate project activities and resources to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Participate in project meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project documentation, including status reports, project charters, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Assist in tracking project progress and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Support the identification and resolution of project issues and conflicts.
  • Assist in maintaining project management tools and software

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Currently pursuing an education or career in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) is a plus.
